Egret Gathering

This painting was part of I’ll Fly Away, a tender collection created in honor of my dad and inspired by the beloved hymn he requested at his service. 

Painted in textured oils, this 20x20x1.5 is deeply meaningful. The egrets are iconic to Florida life and I added more egrets gathering in the distance, as referenced at the Rookery Bird Sanctuary in the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. A pink blush glaze has been added to the horizon. The sides are painted matte black so no framing is needed, and with D-ring hardware, it is ready to hang.
